Iceland Is Cool

When my friend told me she was going to Iceland for her winter break this past December I thought she was crazy. How random a place to visit for your vacation. Fast forward six months and I was planning my own adventure to the same island.

It seems that in a blink of an eye Iceland has become the tourist destination of the year. Ask around and I’m sure you know someone who has been or is going to the land of fire and ice this year. People, like myself previously, didn’t and might still not get the desire to visit a place like Iceland. But Iceland is cool. Continue reading “Iceland Is Cool”

A Dam Good Time

Amsterdam, New York, is a city not far from Albany where I live. Originally settled by the Dutch, the Albany area has many cities and towns named after those that exist in the Netherlands. Growing up, the Amsterdam I knew was nothing much to talk about. But this summer I had the pleasure of visiting the true Amsterdam.

A Monumental Summer

This time last year I was sending in my final housing deposit to spend two months in Washington D.C. for the summer. I’m not very political and I live in New York so why I’ve always been drawn to the District is something I didn’t really understand. I had only been there once before, on a class field trip junior year of high school, but in only a matter of weeks I had been accepted into a program, hired for an internship, and was on my way to one of the best summers of my life. The NOLA Experience

New Orleans was never a city that was on my radar. At least not until junior year when I joined the marketing club. The American Marketing Association (AMA) hosts their annual collegiate conference every spring in New Orleans and our chapter used this conference as an incentive to entice members to work hard and participate all year long. Your reward? 5 days in New Orleans. Continue reading “The NOLA Experience”

The First Post

Since I was a little girl I’ve always been about projects. I would write stories, plan events, and direct movies with my friends. Creating a website is just another project to add to the list but this project seems just a little bit more important.

The first post carries a lot of weight, it’s the one that sets the tone for what types of stories and writing is to come, so it better be good right? The truth is, the first post is not only the most important but probably the most difficult to write.

abouterin.wordpress.com is designed to be an online portfolio for my advertising work, while simultaneously being the home to my blog, Eating With Erin, and the stories about life I might spontaneously write.

This site is the chance to share my life in a little more detail than on social media. It’s a place for me to share my creativity, receive some feedback, and connect with the world.

And with that, I hope you enjoy my site.
