It feels like I am always writing and posting about some place in Schenectady. This probably is largely due to the fact that there are a lot of great restaurants and cafes in town, and partially due to the fact that I spend a lot of time there in general.
I’ve written about restaurant week, the events, and the beer. But there are plenty of options in Schenectady so here’s a quick breakdown of a few of the top spots.

The Shop & The Social Club
Most people would stay wrapped in a blanket and order in on a bone-chilling night. I am not one of those people. It was -7 with the wind chill, packed snow and ice covered the sidewalks, and I was thankful for heated seats as I ventured out of the house to Troy.

Not NOLA, But Close Enough
When I went to New Orleans in 2016 it was one of the best experiences of my college career. Although this answer might change depending on whose asking, the highlight of the trip was definitely discovering the cajun cuisine, and of course hurricanes on Bourbon Street. Uncovering The Hidden Coffee Gems
It’s no secret that I love coffee. It’s a love story that I began to tellĀ here, but like most love stories, there are many layers. My caffeine addiction spans far and wide across many varieties and blends. I don’t discriminate from Starbucks to Dunkin’ to a $1 McCafe. However, like my eating adventures, I’ve started a journey to seek out the local businesses that I can support with every latte, macchiato, and dark roast I consume.

172 Minutes Spent Figuring Out What To Eat
There are hundreds of restaurants within decent driving distance from wherever I am at any given time. I mean of course that the options are plentiful, whether I am at work, home, or out and about. Despite my lengthy list of restaurants to visit, and my relatively laid back palate, even I succumb to the age old question of what should we have for dinner.

A Food Filled Year In Review
In the last year I’ve done quite a bit. I went to Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Canada. I explored Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga, the Adirondacks, and Western New York. With every adventure I tried something new and as the year comes to an end I decided to take a look at the tastiest, and most liked meals of 2017.

An Afternoon On Lark Street
Cobblestone mixed along the smooth pavement marks Lark Street in Albany. On Saturday afternoon, the street is buzzing with people walking past the lit up facades of bars and restaurants, looking to get a taste of Lark. The cars pass by and as the lights change from green to red, I cross the street for lunch.

So Upstate It Hurts
In the last few years I have slowly but surely graduated from the Blue Lights and Genesee Cream Ales of my youth and continued to grow into a beer aficionado. I am still picky, and I definitely don’t know what I am talking about when it comes to saisons and stouts, but I do know my way around the local breweries.

Calories Don’t Count On Vacation
Since I created my Instagram and started investing time and energy into blogging, restaurants have become a central component in all of my visits with my friends. My food adventures make for a great time exploring where I live, but an even better time exploring other cities as well. Most recently I went east to Boston and ate my way through the whole Back Bay.
Capital Region Spotlight: Enjoy Troy
On the East side of the Hudson River sits a city full of life, history, and food. I can’t deny that I once had pre-conceived notions about the City of Troy, often hearing that it was run down and unsafe. Those assumptions were wrong. Because I know I am not alone with the pre-conceived notions, and because I have since learned of all the awesome places Troy has to offer, I decided to highlight some of the best places to visit in Troy.
